Rural areas in Slovenian Istria, or “Slovenian Tuscany”, have preserved natural integrity and thousands of years of cultural heritage, owing to closeness of border with Croatia, and limited accessability.

In the Sustainability Park Istra we focus on educational, health and volunteering tourism. The popularity of the latter is globally increasing and plays an important good example of the sustainable tourism with a positive impact on the world. Volunteers are involved in the implementation of activities in the Park, thereby themselves gaining valuable knowledge and values.

All touristic activities are adapted to the natural characteristics of the region, protected areas of Natura2000 and future Regional Park Dragonja, in which we are situated.

Partners and supporters: Hostel Celica, Turistica – Faculty of Tourism Studies Portorož, Habitats – Developing rural areas.

The cornerstone of sustainable development is the creation of jobs in the local area.

Open office, therefore, provides support services for local businesses. It supports local micro and small enterprises in the field of handicrafts, agriculture and forestry, creative and green industries. It offers help to different organizations and individuals in the region in obtaining European funds.

With the open office we help to facilitate the implementation of new development projects and funding good ideas.

Partners and supporters: Regional Development Centre Koper, Slovenia Co-working.
