Village of Hrvoji was not sleeping during the winter time. We were\u00a0hosting many workshops and finished most of the remaining work on our volunteers&#8217; center, that is becoming a cosy home for volunteers trom all over the world. In the past days 14 new volunteers came from Canada, USA, Belgium, UK and Slovenia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We celebrated the start of the\u00a0new season with bonfire, singing and baking bread and pie in\u00a0our oven. After a short sleep we woke up to the song of the guitar, which\u00a0brought nice memories from past year, when volunteers from more than 30 countries joined forces and donated\u00a0more than 9000 hours of charity work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/P1030406-1024x768.jpg\" rel=\"wp-prettyPhoto[2550]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2854\" src=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/P1030406-1024x768-450x338.jpg\" alt=\"P1030406 (1024x768)\" width=\"547\" height=\"411\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Goals of the coming season are to dedicate even more of our time to the local population. We want to support locals with good ideas, especially the ones\u00a0with potential of creating\u00a0green jobs. We also want to support projects that protect natural and cultural heritage in our region. We will\u00a0help\u00a0the local community to establish a museum and store for local products in a beautiful renovated farm. And, of course, we plan to continue with\u00a0construction of our\u00a0infrastructure &#8211; this year we plan to start renovation of\u00a0the empty school in Hrvoji.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/London-12-of-17.jpg\" rel=\"wp-prettyPhoto[2550]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2998\" src=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/London-12-of-17.jpg\" alt=\"London (12 of 17)\" width=\"556\" height=\"313\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the next days we plan to meet the representatives of local community and establish a strategy of supporting\u00a0the inhabitants of our remote region, where only 10 percent of past population still remains.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/London-14-of-171.jpg\" rel=\"wp-prettyPhoto[2550]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3000\" src=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/London-14-of-171.jpg\" alt=\"London (14 of 17)\" width=\"557\" height=\"387\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We re looking forward to establish new friendships, to work, learn and to experience positive energy that spreads around\u00a0Park Istra like a virus, bringing smiles to the faces of the people around us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Text:\u00a0Petra Matos<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Foto: Christian Wiebe<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First of May was an opening date for a new volunteers&#8217; season in Park istra.
