As our place\u00a0in Hrvoji is full in the summer, we started to search for an alternative place to host the scouts. The municipality of Koper suggested we could use a newly renovated traditional house in the nearby village of Smokvica. The house is protected as cultural heritage and listed as one of the 100 most beautiful rural houses of Slovenia. It turned out to be perfect for our scout camps. We organized a meeting with the locals of Smokvica, who welcomed our idea and gave us many suggestions how we can improve life in their village.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2626\" src=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/247b6f95024acacb9e1c80decc27ce13_XL.jpg\" alt=\"247b6f95024acacb9e1c80decc27ce13_XL\" width=\"437\" height=\"271\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2623\" src=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/20160625_173635.jpg\" alt=\"20160625_173635\" width=\"294\" height=\"271\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, this\u00a0month\u00a0we started to accept scout groups. First group of 21 young people arrived on Friday 1<sup>st<\/sup> of July.<\/p>\n<p>As real Belgians they went to watch the football match on the day of their arrival. The people in the local restaurant were surprised to see so many young people fully coloured for supporting their team. The locals are happy to see the change and happy to see so many active young people in\u00a0their village. They show their gratitude, too. A few days ago\u00a0a local prepared a\u00a0breakfast of local delicacies and organized\u00a0a barbecue party for all the scouts to thank them.<\/p>\n<p>Same as other volunteers in Park Istra, the scouts are working in the morning and have free afternoons. They enjoy this time by\u00a0exploring\u00a0Slovenia,\u00a0going for a walk to the nearby river pools, swimming in Adriatic sea, hiking in\u00a0\u0160kocjanske caves and playing scout games, footbal or basketball.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2608\" src=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Brez-naslova5.jpg\" alt=\"Brez naslova5\" width=\"393\" height=\"295\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2610\" src=\"http:\/\/parkistra.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Brez-naslova7.jpg\" alt=\"Brez naslova7\" width=\"395\" height=\"297\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0the month of July three scout groups will come to help in the village of Smokvica.
